Who this is for

Since late June 2025, the German Accessibility Act (BFSG) requires accessibility from many websites with an online shop or online booking. To be honest about scope: the obligation mainly applies to businesses with 10 or more employees – micro-enterprises (fewer than 10 employees and at most €2 million annual turnover or balance sheet total) are exempt for services under § 3 (3) BFSG.

Even if you fall under that exemption, accessibility is often worth doing voluntarily: your website becomes usable for more people (older customers, visual impairments, keyboard-only users), forms get abandoned less often – and cleanly structured code also helps search engines find you.

Fixes in the code instead of an overlay widget

Bolt-on “accessibility widgets” place a control layer on top of the page but change nothing in the underlying code – the actual barriers remain. I take the other route: I fix the root causes directly in your website’s HTML, CSS and JavaScript – contrast, alternative texts, focus handling, form labels, heading structure. That is permanent, independent of third parties, and the same for every user.
