Stale Radar
See every issue nobody touched: grouped by assignee, every snooze and exemption with a reason.
Jira Cloud · Version 2.1.0 · on the Atlassian Marketplace
Free of charge. Installation and licensing run through Atlassian.
What it does
Every project accumulates issues nobody touches anymore: assigned, started, then forgotten. Finding them means building filters and clicking through. Stale Radar shows them on one page:
- Grouped by assignee, oldest first: every issue nobody touched for 14, 30 or 60 days, sorted so it is immediately clear where things are stuck.
- Snoozing with a reason: snooze an issue for 7 or 30 days or exempt it permanently; the reason is recorded. Expired snoozes resurface automatically.
- Computed live, with your permissions: each view is built fresh from Jira the moment you open it (asUser). You only ever see issues you are allowed to see.
- No mails, no scheduled jobs, no identities stored.
- Zero setup: install, open the project page, done.
Getting started
- Install the app for your Jira Cloud site from the Atlassian Marketplace listing.
- Open any project and go to the Stale Radar page: the radar renders immediately, no setup.
- Pick a threshold (14, 30 or 60 days), then clear, snooze or exempt issues, with a reason.
Permissions and data
Stale Radar runs entirely on Atlassian Forge:
read:jira-work: read-only calls, always scoped to the one project and executed with your own permissions (asUser): one bounded JQL search per page view (max 3 pages of 100) for issues whose last update is older than the chosen threshold, fetching only summary, status, assignee and updated. Before any snooze is written, the app verifies the target issue: it belongs to the project and is visible to you.storage:app: stores exactly one small record per snoozed or exempted issue: an until date or a permanent flag, an optional free-text reason and a created timestamp. No issue content, no account ids.
No writes to Jira, no background jobs, no scheduled scans, no mails: the radar is recomputed from live Jira data on every visit and shown only to you. The stored snooze records contain no account ids; reasons are free text, and the UI explicitly asks to keep them free of personal data. Your data never leaves Atlassian infrastructure: no external servers, no data egress, no AI, no tracking, no third-party services.
