Weekly Brief
A deterministic weekly status per project: done, started, new, overdue and due soon, plus copy-ready Markdown.
Jira Cloud · Version 2.1.0 · on the Atlassian Marketplace
Free of charge. Installation and licensing run through Atlassian.
What it does
Writing the weekly status is nobody’s favorite job: collecting what got done, what started, what’s new and what’s slipping, then formatting it for stakeholders. Weekly Brief turns the last 7 days of a Jira project into one ready page:
- One page per project: done, started, new, overdue and due soon, computed from live Jira data the moment you open it.
- Copy-ready Markdown: one block, formatted for Confluence, Slack or email. Copy, paste, send. The status meeting is prepared.
- Deterministic: the same project and the same week always produce the same brief. No AI guessing, no summaries that need proofreading.
- Respects permissions: every query runs as the viewing user: you only ever see issues you are allowed to see.
- Zero footprint: nothing is stored, nothing runs in the background. Each brief is recomputed live and shown only to you.
Getting started
- Install the app for your Jira Cloud site from the Atlassian Marketplace listing.
- Open any project and go to the Weekly Brief page: the current week renders immediately, no setup.
- Copy the Markdown block into Confluence, Slack or your status email.
Permissions and data
Weekly Brief runs entirely on Atlassian Forge and requests exactly one permission:
read:jira-work: one bounded, read-only search per page view, scoped to the single project you are looking at, executed with your own permissions (asUser). It reads only the fields the brief displays.
No writes to Jira, no background jobs, no scheduled scans, and no storage of any kind: the app persists nothing, so there is nothing to delete, export or leak. No external servers, no data egress, no AI, no tracking, no third-party services.
Support
Direct line to the developer: no ticket system, no first-level filter.
- Email: support@dangelstudio.de
- Contact form: reply usually within 1–2 business days
Support is provided on a best-effort basis. No fixed response or resolution times (SLA) are promised.
